Craft?

Took K to the Air & Space Museum on Saturday, after we’d gone to the National Book Festival. (How cultured!) She wanted to see rockets. There were rockets. Mission accomplished! The best part was the lunar lander. She asked me to read one of the signs on it, and it said something something “this craft was never used.”

She said, “craft?”

I said, “yeah.”

She said, “This is a craft?”

I said, “sure.”

She looked at it, and she looked at me, and she said, “Woah. That’s a big craft.”

And that’s when I remembered talking to her about the craft show we were going to the next day, and explained about how it can also mean ship. But now I’ve got the eternally entertaining image of a bunch of NASA engineers sitting around with Popsicle sticks and glue, dreaming of going to the moon…
